Duarsini is a small village located at the West Bengal-Jharkhand border in the Purulia district in West Bengal. Nestled beside the Satgudum river, Duarsini is basically a forest village inhabited by the tribals. By Train : Ghatshila is the nearest railway station to Duarsini.  After getting down at Ghatshila railway station, you can hire a local cab to reach Duarsini. It is about 25 kms by road from Ghatshila to Duarsini.

By Bus : Very Few buses are available from Kolkata to Ghatshila. From Ghatshila you can reach Duarsini as mentioned above.

                       

By Car : If you are coming from Kolkata, you have to reach Duarsini via Kolaghat, Kharagpur, Lodhasuli, Sardiha, Baharagora and Ghatshila.

 

What to see in Duarsini / Places to visit near Duarsini

1)      Duarsini Forest : Duarsini village itself is nestled in Duarsini forest, where you can embrace the nature with its virginity. The forest is home to wild animals like elephants, bears, wolves, hyenas etc. Sal, Segun, Piyal etc are the local inhabitants of this forest. The small Satgudum river has been increased the beauty and attraction of this place.

2)      Ghatshila : Ghatshila is a small town situated on the bank of Subarnarekha river in the East Singbhum district of Indian state Jharkhand. The distance between Ghatshila and Duarsini is about 20 kms by road. A lot of sightseeing points are there in Ghatshila like Bibhutibhushan Bandyapadhyay’s ( the great Bengali novelist ) cottage, Burudi Lake, Gurrasini Hills, Dimna Lake, Dharagiri  fall, Phuldungri Hill, Chandim dam, Narwa Forest, Rinkini temple etc.

3)      Ajodhya Hill : Ajodhya Hill is one of the renowned tourist destination which can be covered from Duarsini for a day trip. Mayur Pahar, Upper dam & Lower dam, Bamni Falls, marble Lake, Turga Falls, Sita Kund are the major sightseeing points in Ajodhya Hill.
