Rongli is a small town and headquarter of Rongli Subdivision of Pakyong district in Sikkim state. Rongpo Khola, a small river flows over this town and makes it more charming. Rongli is the chec point to enter Sikkim Silk Rout circuit so you need to get permit from here to visit Silk Rout. Rongli is also a major business hub in the Eastern Sikkim area and has a great impact on the local economy.

Nearest Airport : Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport from Rongli. The distance from Bagdogra to Rongli is about 108 kilometres by road and takes more or less 5 hours to reach.

1) Reshikhola : Reshikhola Rishikhola is a tiny hamlet located at the border of West Bengal and East Sikkim. This is a check post point to enter Eastern Sikkim or Sikkim silk rout circuit. This is a serene and appealing village, located just beside the Reshi river bed. Rongli is only 20 kilometers from Reshikhola and easily accessible by cab so that anyone can do a day trip from here.

2) Padamchen : Padamchen is a small village located at the foot hill of Zuluk. So, it is called as lower Zuluk also. Some good homestays are available in Padamchen for accommodation. Travellers who don’t like to stay in chilled cool weather for night stay, Padamchen is a good option for them. Padamchen is only 21 kilometers from Rongli.

3) Zuluk : Zuluk is one of the most popular destination in Sikkim Silk Rout tour circuit. The famous zigzag road is visible from here only. Rongli is only 30 kilometers from Zuluk. If anyone is making a plan to visit Zuluk, can do a day trip easily from Rongli.

4) Nathang Valley : Nathang Valley is the top most staying point in Sikkim Silk Rout area and it is about 53 kilometers by road to reach Nathang Valley from Rongli. The sightseeing points of Nathang valley you can cover from Rongli through entire a day.

The best time to visit Rongli is from March to May and October to November, when the weather remains clear and travel is smooth. Rongli is not a destination stay, but a key entry point to the Silk Route in East Sikkim. Located along the Teesta River valley, it serves as the base for permits and onward journeys to places like Zuluk and Nathang Valley. Monsoon brings heavy rain and can affect road conditions.
