What to See in Chatakpur

• Senchal wild Life Sanctuary - Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the oldest Sanctuary of India with about the area of 38.6 square kilometer and it opened in 1915. The sanctuary is the home for barking deer, Himalayan black deer, Indian leopard, Rhesus monkey, Himalayan flying squirrel, Wild dogs etc. Other than these animals, This forest has a large number of trees like pine, oak and birch. There is a beautiful lake you can find in this area - that is Senchal lake. Though the lake is bit far from Main forest, but it has a great attraction for tourist.
• Darjeeling City - The world famous Darjeeling city is just 20 kilometers from Chatakpur and can be reached via Ghoom and Sonada
• Tiger Hill - Tiger Hill is about 20 kilometers distance from Chatakpur by road. Chatakpur Tiger Hill trek is a popular trek near Darjeeling area. It will take 3-4 hours if you climb the hill by trekking. A local guide is recommended if you want to trek this mind blowing route.
• Jore Bunglow - Jore Bunglow is very much near to Chatakpur and the view of Mt. Khanchendzonga from here is superb.
• Ghum - Ghum Railway Station is the highest Railway Station of India at the altitude of 2258 meters from Sea level. Ghum monastery and Batasia loop is the major tourist attraction near Ghum Railway Station. It is about 16 kilometers by road from Ghum to Chatakpur
• Sonada - It is about 7 kilometers from Sonada to Chatakpur by road
