1)Icche Gaon : Icchegaon, a sister village of Sillery Gaon, is about 16 kilometers by road.  The village is as beautiful as Sillery Gaon.

2)Kalimpong : Kalimpong is the nearest city or town from Sillerygaon to get any luxury amenities. You can make a plan for one day excursion trip of Kalimpong  full day sightseeing.

3)Deolo : Deolo is the top most peak of the Kalimpong. If you wish for an adventurous activity, you can do experience ‘Paragliding’ here. That may be your lifetime memory.

4)Pedong : Pedong is a small historical town near Silery Gaon. Sangchen Dorjee Monastery, commonly known as Pedong Monastery, is one of the most desired point to visit in Pedong. Pedong is about 9 kilometers by road from Pedong.

5)Lava : Lava, just 23 kilometers by road, is a small town near Sillerygaon. Kagyu Thekchen Ling Monastery or Lava monastery is one of the most beautiful monasteries in Kalimpong region to visit. You can make plan of an excursion trip to Lava along with Rishyap from Sillery Gaon.

6)Rishyap : Rishyap is a small hamlet near Sillerygaon with a impressive view of Mt. Kahnchendzonga. It is about 25 kilometers by road from Sillery gaon to Rishyap. You can make an excursion trip to Rishyap along with lava on a leisured day.

How to reach Sillerygaon

Nearest Airport : Bagdogra Airport (IXB). Bagdogra is about 98 kilometers by road from Sillery Gaon.

Nearest Railway Station : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). NJP is about 92 kilometers by road from Sillerygaon.

From Bagdogra or NJP or Tenzing Norgey Bus Stand you can hire a private car to reach Sillery Gaon. You have to take the Sevok road first. Go ahead towards Kalimpong. After reaching Kalimpong take right turn toward Silk Route. From Kalimpong  it is about 24 kilometers by road to reach Sillerygaon.

Weather & Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Sillery Gaon is from October to April, when the sky remains clear and the mountains are fully visible. This quiet village near Kalimpong is known for its direct views of Kanchenjunga and the nearby Ramitey viewpoint, from where you can see long stretches of the Teesta River winding through the valley. Monsoon brings lush greenery but often hides the mountains behind clouds.
