1) Yumthang Valley: Yumthang valley, popularly known as Sikkim Valley of flowers, is about 25 kilometres from Lachung and takes more or less 1 and a half hours to reach by car. This valley is the home to Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary.
2) Zero Point: Zero Point (Yume Samdong) is a paradise for mountain and snow enthusiasts. The entire place is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can enjoy playing and having fun with snowballs. This mesmerizing place is about 23 kilometres drive.
3) Katao: Katao is another attraction for snow lovers. This place is about 25 kilometres from Lachung and close to the Tibet border. You cannot get permission from the Gangtok Permit Office for visiting Katao.
4) Lachen: Lachen is the twin village of Lachung and you can visit some mesmerizing places from there.
5) Gurudongmar Lake: One of the highest lakes in the world located at an altitude of 17,800 ft. The turquoise water of the lake surrounded by the snow-clad mountains is breathtaking.
6) Hot springs: North Sikkim is famous for its natural hot springs that are known to have medicinal properties and are soothing amdist the natural beauty.
Nearest Airport: Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport to go to Lachung, but you can’t go directly to Lachung from Bagdogra since they need to get a permit from Gangtok to go to North Sikkim. The distance from Bagdogra to Gangtok is about 123 kilometres and From Gangtok to Lachen, it is another 110 kilometres.
Pakyong Airport is the nearest to Chalamthang, but it is not accessible from all the cities.
Nearest Bus Stand: Tenzing Norgey Bus stand is the nearest bus stand. It connects with all neighbouring cities and states. The total distance from Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand to Lachung is 183.4 kilometres.
Nearest Railway Station: NJP or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station is near most railway stations from Lachung as well as Gangtok. From NJP to Gangtok it is about 118 kilometres and from Gangtok, to Lachung it is a further 110 kilometres.
