Chibo:

Chibo (often called Chibo Busty or Chhibo) is a small, scenic village in the Kalimpong district of West Bengal, located approximately 4 km from Kalimpong town. Nestled on a forested Himalayan ridge at about 4,000 ft (≈1,250 m) above sea level, it’s known for lush pine forests, colourful wildflowers, traditional villages, nature walks, bird watching etc. Chibo is a scenically blessed village nestled in the mountainous folds of Eastern Himalayas. Untarnished by the modern society Chibo with its rustic style and serene ambiance has become a safe haven for the nature lovers. This quaint village caught the attention of travelers with its mesmerizing view of Mt Kanchenjunga.

By Air: The quickest way to reach Chibo is by air. The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport (IXB), situated approximately 70-75 kilometers away from Chibo.

 Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Chibo is from October to April, when the weather stays clear and the valley opens up fully. This hillside village looks out over the Teesta River basin, giving wide, open views from homestays. Mornings often begin with soft light over the valley, while evenings stay quiet with cool air. On clear days, you may also catch distant views of Kanchenjunga. Monsoon brings thick greenery but also clouds and rain.
