Nearest Airport : Bagdogra Airport is the nearest airport from Aritar. The distance from Bagdogra to Aritar is about 114 kilometres by road and takes more or less 6 hours to reach.

Actually Pakyong Airport is the near most from Aritar, but it is not accessible from all the cities.

Nearest Railway Station : NJP or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station is the near most railway station from Aritar. From NJP to Aritar it is about 110 kilometres by driving and takes more or less 6 hours to reach.

 Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Aritar is from March to May and October to November, when the weather remains clear and the lake stays calm. Aritar is known for Lampokhari Lake, one of the few natural lakes in Sikkim where boating is possible. The village is spread around the lake and nearby hills, making it a relaxed stop before heading towards the Silk Route. Monsoon brings heavy rain and low visibility.
