By Air: Fly to Bagdogra Airport (IXB). This is the nearest airport to Samthar approximately 85 to 90 Kilometers . From the airport, hire a taxi or book a cab to reach Samthar The journey takes approximately 3-3.5 hours.

By Train: Take a train to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station. This is the nearest major railway station to Samthar approximately 85 to 90 Kilometers. Hire a taxi or book a cab from NJP to reach Panbu. The journey takes approximately 3-3.5 hours.

By Road:  You can reach Siliguri by car, bus, or train. Hire a taxi or book a cab from there. The distance from Siliguri to Samthar, Kalimpong is approximately 90 Kilometers. The journey takes approximately 3 - 4 hours drive.

    The best time to visit Samthar is from October to April, when the weather remains clear and pleasant, offering expansive views of the surrounding hills and distant Himalayan ranges including Kanchenjunga. Winter months are particularly attractive due to the orange harvesting season, when the entire region is dotted with vibrant orange orchards. Spring enhances the landscape with fresh greenery and blooming flora, making it ideal for nature walks and village experiences.
