Mairung Gaon (also spelled Mayrong Gaon) is a quiet, off-the-beaten-path village in the Kalimpong district of West Bengal, nestled close to the Neora Valley National Park and surrounded by dense forests and hills. At an altitude of around 5,000 ft (≈1,500 m), the village is known for its lush greenery, fresh mountain air, and spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks — including Kanchenjunga, Nathula and the Sikkim hills on clear days.

Nearest Airport: Bagdogra International Airport (IXB), near Siliguri. From here you can hire a taxi or shared vehicle toward Kalimpong or Lava and then on to Mairung Gaon.
By Train
Nearest Major Railway Station: New Jalpaiguri (NJP). From NJP you can hire a private taxi to Kalimpong, Lava, or directly toward the village.
By Road
Via Kalimpong: Around 20 km from Kalimpong town. Travel by private taxi or shared cab from Kalimpong toward Lava/Algarah and then onto the Mairung access road.
Via Lava/Algarah: The village lies off the Lava–Algarah bypass roughly 5 km down a small road where homestays begin.
The roads are usually motorable but can be narrow and hilly, so a reserved car / taxi is recommended for comfort.
